In the industrial process, many plants have the characteristic of large time-delay. Because of the existence of large time-delay, the system overshoot will be large, and the system settling time will be long. So the process with large-time delay is considered as a kind of plant which is hard to be controlled. The longer the time-delay takes, the harder the plant is to be controlled. Thus the control of large time-delay plant is a big problem in the field of automation and computer all the time. And this kind of plant exists in industrial producing process, such as petroleum, chemistry, brewage pharmacy, metallurgy and so on. So the research on this issure is of significance in prctice.Traditional method of PID with Smith predictor is sensitive to the error of the plant's model. When the plant modeling error or interference exists, the control effect is always disappointing. Recently, with the development of intelligent control such as fuzzy control, neural network control, some scholars integrate them with Smith predictor PID controller and predictive control, and propose new control methods to uncertain large time-delay system. Although some of the schemes work in effect, the system becomes more and more complex and is difficult to debug and adjust. So how to design a kind of simple, fast and reliable controller is an important issure all the time.Above all this thesis introduces the characteristic of the process with large time-delay, and presents embedded systems'advantages, history of development, actuality and foreground summarily. We generally introduce AR??d its application field. Then the thesis proposes a design scheme of an ADRC controller integrated with Smith Predictor for the large dead-time plant. It compares the performance of this controller with the PID controller based on Smith Predictor and the single ADRC controller through simulation. The simulation results indicate that the ADRC controller with Smith Predictor has the better control effect than the others in dealing with a large dead-time plant and improving the system's robustness and the ability of disturbance rejection. In order to validate the real control effect of the proposed stratege,we choose the temperature of the pipeline in a PCT-II control device having large time-delay as a controlled plant, and use JX44B0 as major control device to design and accomplish a large time-delay experiment test platform. We present the hardware platforms which are needed by the embedded control system with large time delay, the configuration of the system and the content of the experiment. Then the thesis introduces the interface of embedded control platform and how to implement the functions of the system. Afterwards we introduce how to realize the communication with the server through Ethernet in remote client and the interface of the client. Finally, the experiment parameters set up and the results are given. The results indicate that the control stratege which is proposed in the paper works well when dealing with large dead-time plants in prctice.
