As the knowledge economy era comes, innovation and technological progress become a more and more important role on innovation enhancing the nations' competitiveness. The diffusion of technology has become an inevitable demand from technological progress of enterprises and industry development in China. Ways to tackle the problem of innovation diffusion will have a long-term impact on the future of our country's position in global competition. The study took 362 cities in the mainland as the potential innovative market region, developed the system of innovation diffusion in multi-region and knowledge spillover based on the agent-based modeling method and discussed the result of system simulation. There are six chapters in the thesis:The first chapter reviewed the established research on innovation diffusion in multi-region and knowledge spillover home and abroad, and then put forward the research question and modeling method according to the situation in China. In the following, Chapter 2 analyzed the elements influencing organization and development of industry capital, so typical factors, such as resources, environment, economy and public service were chosen as data in the system. As the core of this study, Chapter 3 constructed the technology innovation and diffusion model as well as the population and capital flow model. Having defined behavioral modeling, such as venture, production, research and development, capital flow, the study has made the behavioral design for business agents from the perspective of simulation.Next, Chapter 4 explained the construction of the system, including needs analysis, general design, detailed design and the realization of the whole design. After simulating the agent behavior and function and comparing the differences among various policies, Chapter 5 draws conclusions as below: 1) A small number of businesses choose innovation or purchase to get new technology while most of them renew the technology through simulation. 2) Most patents are obtained in the east China, which is the source of technology diffusion, while technology is further promoted in the other three regions. 3) Appropriate restrictions on the developed areas is favorable for technology diffusion. 4) Preferential policies are beneficial in technology innovation. During the same period, the average level of technology in the market has raised, in the meanwhile, the preferential policies have exerted conspicuous effects on the rising of economical level in the mid and west regions. Besides, they are helpful in holding labors in the middle of China, thus reducing people emigrating to the east.At last, the sixth chapter is the conclusion and discussion of the study.
