The radio frequency identification(RFID) technology is a new technology of non-contact automatic identification, the research and development of Ultra high frequency (UHF) RFID system in recent year, RFID systems are applied in more and more fields, and they have involved in many aspects of people's daily life. Compared with the low-frequency and intermediate frequency radio frequency identification system, UHF RFID is one kind of RFID technology by which the devices implement wireless communication with tags at UHF frequency band. Besides the advantages listed above it also provides longer identification distance, wider identification range and deeper identification depth. Nowadays, it has become a hot spot in RFID research.For the requirement of remote information management, the radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is studied in this dissertation, with the automatic identification system of the traffic inspection as a background. The fundamentals associated with RFID system in the field of electromagnetic and communications are summarized and technical essence is pointed out at the viewpoint of system design. Firstly, theoretical methods of the UHF RFID system and the tags design are investigated, the emphasis is placed on the RF front-end structure and some key technologies of the UHF RFID tag in this paper. In the applications, main focuses are on the authentication and secure communication links between tags and readers, the security technologies and mechanisms of tag have been studied in the initial. Secondly, it carried out RFID UHF RF front-end structure and function of system simulation and a low-power UHF RFID has been designed. In ultra-high frequency RFID electronic tags of the design, as an electronic tag an important part of the antenna and associated RF circuit and the tag manufacturing process , which determines the overall RFID system performance indicators and the actual availability. Through research,we have made the success of the design of a good UHF band RFID tag. Final, the inspection systems combining with the intelligent coding technology have used in the traffic,the measured and the simulated results show that validity of the design.
