Along with the development of the ship network and intelligence, the automation level of engine room becomes higher and higher. This paper studies the remote control system of the main engine, an important part of the engine room research. This researched is based on the remote control systems of main engine 12VE230ZC 6300ZC 6350ZC and light 12V180ZC. This paper put forward a program of universal main engine remote control system to realize the remote control of main engine central control room and long distance wireless through wireless remote control port.This system adopts PLC as its main controller, DC permanent magnet motor as the actuator of control system, photoelectric transducer as the element of the inspecting-location. After receiving command, the main controller controls the motor, the worm reducer, clutch and connecting mechanism driven by motor to realize the main engine control.There is a design of the collectivity structure system, where the actuator is made up of selection of motor, reducer, clutch and connecting mechanism and the control system is made up of the controller, driving circuit, transducer, rev inspector and location feedback setting. Moreover, the intensity of the collectivity structure and the critical component has been analyzed in particular.Through the enactment of the PID parameter, a stable rev control method of the PID has been put forward. The PID adjusting function of the PLC can make the rev work stably in a specifically area under the disturbances , through change the controlled variable of the velometer by the angle controlling over the motor.To satisfy the special features of the system such as high controlling force, sophisticate structure and high programming, this paper adopts Petri net theory, establishes Petri net model and deducts logical equation, to design and optimize the system's control program. At the same time, the control capability is analyzed through the analysis method of Petri net and the system program compiled is validated through the emulation software.The manufacture of the prototype and the debugging experimentation have been accomplished. The experiments of the ship installation, ship berthing and sailing on the sea has been carried out. The experimental results indicate that the system was steady, and all the targets were achieved.
