The principle of the pressure-sensitive mats and measurement system will be presented. The digital image processing methods of the footprint pattern and pressure distribution images, which may be characterized into the tire contact area on the ground under a specific load, ratio of contact area to the total area of the footprint pattern, ratio between the length and width of the footprint pattern, pressure center associated with the tire footprint pattern, etc, will be depicted. |
