Texture synthesis from sample is a new technology which develops fast currently. The mainly application of such thesis is to smooth the gap, fix the error and modify the parameters in an image. It works well in the fields such as picture edited, image modification, data compression, and data transmission through network and reality scene representation. The mainly creations are following:The author first introduces current algorithm of texture synthesis with details. Then analysis the advantages and disadvantages of each algorithm, especially the WEI algorithm and EFROS algorithm and create a novel multi-resolution based texture synthesis method, which could obviously accelerate traditional pitch-based texture synthesis algorithm at the stage of searching blocks of optimization. Then the author shows that how to use texture synthesis method to create reality plant organs. The author first use sample- based texture synthesis algorithm to form orange, apple and banana. Unfortunately, it just works well at orange organ, because the texture in orange is random, which is easy to synthesis comparing to other two plant organs. And through this, the author summarizes two main problems that block success. One is that the sample which is base in algorithm is hard to get; the other problem is that we could hardly get exact image as we expect because texture synthesis is a random process. To solve the problem, the author introduces other methods instead. For banana model, the author get full texture image and plasters it to the banana model surface directly; for apple model, the author apply the procedure texture synthesis way to create the illumination model of apple in order to get real virtual plant organ. At last, the result of experiment could prove right. At last, the author shows the full growth of a reality virtual orange tree model which is simulated by computer vision and this could be regarded as typical application of texture synthesis. In this virtual orange tree growth procedure, at special L-system phase, when the flowers fade, the author let orange organs instead of once flowers at the same places.
