The System For Detection Of Emerging Trends In Computer Science

As rapidly developing of research in computer field, scientific literature's quantity has been increasing exponentially. Facing the voluminous resources, user is unable to find out the developing trends of the research field he cares of at present. Currently too much data is available for a human expert to examine manually and not risk missing some vital piece of information.Therefore, mining the emerging trends of relevant research field from the scientific literature automatically is quite of scenes.Under the consideration of the above question, Trensem, Detection System of emerging trends in computer research field proposed an automatic-detection of emerging trends in the field. The basic idea of the model is as follows: the papers published in on the conference are the basic resources which are used for the trends detecting, the paper is extracted and creates meta-data of the paper. We use the co-citation analysis technology to classify the conference automatically. Each conference catalog can be recognized as a research field, then adding the topic lable to each conference cluster, which is refered in the literatures. The paper in each field is clstered, and each cluter is considered an emerging trend. The frequencey of paper published,number of citations,the weight of author reputations and weight of sources (conferences) mentioning about the topic are considered,and the topic represents is formed. With all the properties of the topic, we can define how to rank the trend value. Finally, we can query the trend through the system and the result is visulized.Test is done based on this system. The system has given the trends value over twenty research fields in the computer area. And the detected trends are visualized as a graph in the system. User can compare the trends of different fields through the system; the system will display the difference timely. It will reveal emerging innovations to technology planners and investors. So it is of great availability .the user just need to input some keywords into the query windows, and the system will give the possibl research field automatically, and it also the most import conference of the field. So the system is quite easily used.
