The Control and Communication Link is simplified as CC-LINK. The CC-LINK field bus is one of the most extensive field bus communication networks in the industrial automation fields at present. The CC-LINK links with each independent modular unit of total automation line, so the high speed, high efficiency and the high flexible decentralized control will be realized. Thus, the performance of CC-LINK can meet the demand of cost reduction, high reliability, enhanced maintainability, and intelligence of data acquisition. MPS system names the module production system. The total MPS system is composed of 6 work stations, including feeding detecting unit, feeding handling unit, processing treatment unit, work piece assembly unit, storage handling unit, sorting unit. Each module station has been controlled by each PLC station independently. In the past, the I/O communication was adopted in traditional Industrial automation line. The shortage regarding quantity and speed of data transmission in I/O communication can not meet the demand of modern Industrial production. The CC-LINK field bus communication network links with each module station of MPS system, thus the CC-LINK can implement decentralized control in MPS system. So, the efficiency of MPS system can be improved notably, and the performance of its reliability and maintainability can be improved greatly. Research mainly done in this paper is the application of CC-LINK filed bus in modular automation line, in order to realize the high speed of data transmission and data processing in total automation line. This project has been accomplished as follows:1. The scheme design of MPS system, the design of overall framework and material flow.2. The design of pneumatic circuit regarding 6 independent workstations in MPS system, and the motion simulation based on Fluid_SIM software.3. The design of PLC control circuit regarding 6 independent workstations in MPS system.4. The hardware configuration of CC-LINK and the wiring design between master station and slave station.5. The communication parameter setting regarding CC-LINK, and the address distribution of buffer memory in master station and slave station.6. The communication programming and functional programming regarding master station 0 and every slave station including 1, 2, 3,4 ,5.
