The Research And Application Of Collaborative Approval Management System

Collaborative approval is a collaborative management business, which is widely applied in many organizations, including governments, enterprises, schools, hospitals and so on. Approval concerns the accordance of rights, so it's one of the organization management's attentive problems. Collaborative approval management is collaborative working among organizations, systems and domains and is more complex than conventional approval. It emphasizes collaboration, conversation and resource sharing. But isolated information islands in different approval departments have blocked collaborative working. Poor communication resultes in ineffectiveness and terrible social and economic benefits. How to establish an collaborative approval management system in order to resolve problems of inefficiency of services, limited share level of resources and deficient interoperability of application is becoming a flashing new subject.At first the paper analyzes the management situation of collaborative approval and makes clear the urgency and importance of collaborative approval management system's research. Started from the management theories of collaborative approval, the theories of synergetics, management coordination, collaborative management and so on are introduced. It describes collaborative approval business and the main differences from conventional approval. The concept and characteristics of collaborative approval are summarized by using the theories and business of collaborative approval. Then the general design of collaborative approval management system based on workflow and web services is presented. The systematic structure is divided into 2 big parts, workflow management part and application management part. In the workflow management part, listing the specific modules of workflow process modeling tool, executing engine, workflow interfaces, workflow application and so on. Modeling the organization structure, process definition and running instance of workflow. Giving the workflow database structure and the design method of related approval business's application databases. In the approval application management part, the integration of application systems is primarily discussed. The reusable functions are transformed into web services, then approval applications request the services by SOAP for interactive operation between systems. The workflow calls applications and exchanges with them by the approval applications' data set in modeling tool. In addition, taked the collaborative approval of university students' school-leaving for example. The school-leaving collaborative approval's business processes are analyzed in detail. Modeling workflow, desiging system functions, designing database and designing application integration based on the collaborative approval management system plan. Using JAX-RPC to integrate related application systems so as to access between heterogeneous platforms.A prototype of collaborative approval management system is presented in this paper. The prototype provides the function of process management that can be widely used in various of collaborative approval processes. Under the prototype more approval applications can be developed and integrated. It also has certain reference values for the research of other collaborative management application systems.
