For monitoring of moving object in the space, we place two cameras in a different location in the space to take photographs of the space. Then we analyze the photographs using the method of image processing. We can get projection coordinates of the target in each photograph. Using of space-related principles, according to the location of the two cameras, we can calculate the three-dimensional coordinates of the target in the space.The design uses Samsung's S3C2410 chip production as the core to build embedded Linux systems. It can monitor a moving object in a space sizing of 1 .5m×1m×1.5m,and calculate the three-dimensional coordinates of the object.These articles focuses on the basic principles and methods of calculating three-dimensional coordinates of the target image measurement using the method of image processing, and introduce the hardware and software systems of the task. The simulation results prove the validation. It can prove the way for further researching.
