Research On Process Measurement Modeling And Aided Tool

The increasing competition makes organizations pay much attention to improvement of their own management and efficiency of production. As the result of the extensive usage of information technologies, more and more organizations use information technologies to achieve their goals. In practice, the workflow technologies have been used to support the process management. Organizations use the workflow technologies to do the process modeling and business process re-engineering. Therefore, it became an important part to evaluate the performance of process model. The evaluation of process must base on the measurement of process. So the research on process measurement modeling and aided tool is important in theory and in practice.For the practical needs in process measurement, this thesis studies the process modeling theory supporting process measurement based on the former workflow modeling theory. And based on the theory of process performance evaluation, this thesis presents a set of measurement indexes which are not dependant on the features of business process. The measurement modeling tool has been also designed and implemented. The following items are included in the work:1. Studying the process modeling theory based on the Petri net which has been applied widely.2. Extending the Xinpai driven process model in order to make it support the process measurement.3. Studying the evaluation index system of process. Presenting a set of measurement indexes which are not dependent on the features of business process, based on the evaluation index system. And describing them formally.4. Designing and implementing the measurement modeling tool based on the former studies. It can be used to collect the measurement requirements and produce the measurement model which can be recognized by the workflow engine.
