The Research And Application Of Data Warehouse Technology In The Telecommunication Business Decision Analysis System

Data warehouse is a kind of data set that is subject-oriented, integrated, time-dependent, and unmodified in the enterprise management and decision-making. In order to further tap data resources and meet the decision-making demand, data warehouse has been created and developed on the base of plenty databases.This paper chooses decision-making system for the study object and makes study for the practice of warehouse on decision-making. Firstly the paper expatiated on the concept and content of the data warehouse, compared the distinctions between traditional database and data warehouse, analyzed the current enterprise data warehouse technology needs and background. Secondly,combined with the principles and structural features of data warehouse and difficulties in the course of building for Netcom management decision system, the paper made a specific analysis on the data sources, metadata, ETL, data mining and other data warehouse's key characteristics. Finally, combined with the Hebei Netcom decision-making system, the paper expatiated on the actual applications and effects of the data warehouse technology, at the same time forecasted the future application of the data warehouse in the telecommunication business operations.The conclusion is that now the telecom enterprises have enough data resources and conditions to establish the data warehouse. The paper designed and made the final solution of data warehouse for the telecom enterprises ,the data warehouse established has already played the important role in the enterprise decision-making.
