With a rapid development of Internet and its constantly upgraded technology, there is a growing need for educational informationalization with an even higher demand for educational resources and their platform. Amidst the boundless resources, the traditional way of the passive service model, by which the users have to look for resources by themselves, is no longer able to satisfy the users' individualized demands. Consequently, the educational resources center should be transformed from such traditional model, in which the users search for information by themselves, into a new model, in which the resources center delivers the information actively to users. In other words, it is a transformation from a "pull" model into a "push" model, which enhances the center's ability to offer the users individualized services.Based on one of the largest provincial-level educational resources center nationwide—Shanghai Educational Recources Center (SHERC), as well as the author's internship and practice at SHERC, this essay studies the technologies and their application for individualized services of educational resources center. By analysis and use of the technologies of Web2.0 that support the individualized services, a technological module is aimed to be established on the distributed educational resources platform of the core platform of SHERC, which will support the individualized use of resources—an individualized knowledge portal system. The application of the individualized service technologies fulfills such key functions as setting the individualized interface and contents of the system. RSS technology realizes the setting of the system's individualized contents, which clusters those individualized contents set by users in the resources center; while Ajax technology makes the setting of an individualized interface successful, which enables the users to enjoy a rich and sound using experience. The design and fulfillment of an individualized knowledge portal system based on individualized service technologies, will break through the traditional passive service model which is characterized by user's searching for resources by themselves. Instead, a new model will be established by guiding the users actively, and delivering to users the knowledge that meets their individualized demands, so that a service model centering on users can be achieved, with the service quality and the resources utilization efficiency of the distributed resources management system of the core platform of SHERC enhanced. The essay is divided into five chapters as follows: Chapter One introduces the background of the study. Through an analysis on the the distributed resources management platform of the core platform of SHERC, a new demand for the distributed resources management platform is proposed, with the advanced conception of Web2.0 focusing on the individualized serviced introduced. Finally, the objectives and contents of the essay are posed, followed by the significance of the research.Chapter Two studies the key technologies of Web2.0 that support the individualized services, with a detailed exploration of key supportive technologies that realize the function of individualized services such as XML, RSS, and Ajax, etc.Chapter Three layouts a whole design of an individualized knowledge portal system based on individualized service technologies, including the framework of the system as a whole, an introduction of the functions of the module, a description of key functions for the individualized services of educational resources center, and an introduction of the system's development and deployment environment, etc.Chapter Four achieves the key technologies for individualized services. By using the key technologies of Web2.0 that support the individualized services such as RSS, Ajax, etc., an emphasis is laid on working out such key modules as setting the individualized interface and contents of the individualized knowledge portal system.Chapter Five concludes the achievements of this study, with the future direction of research introduced.
