Nowadays, all the international countries, especially the flourishing ones, pay much attention to environmental protection and energy economizing problem, the low power of stand-by mode equipment would hope to economize very considerable electric power energy. China is the biggest color television producing country in the world, however, greatly parts of products' power is 3 Ws above on the stand-by mode, exceeding the international standard of low stand-by power. This paper is based on the researching and developing experiences of the export high definition television to study and discuss how to minor the power consume of the color CRT television on the stand-by mode within the scope of certain cost. The innovation of this paper is to achieve the target according to choose the right power supply technique and optimize the MCU power supply electric circuit, which have been proved to be very helpful for our production.When the color television is in the stand-by mode, the power supply circuit and MCU circuit will still on the power consuming circumstances. After carefully refined choosing, we took the STR-W6556 chip of Sanken companies, which works at the UVLO-burst mode with lowered switch frequency when the color television is in the stand-by mode, as SMPS project. Based on these, we also carefully designed and optimized the MCU, lowered the power consumed of the power supply circuit in the stand-by mode further. At last, we redesigned the demagnetization circuit and made it consume very few of power in the stand-by mode. After much revise of above design loops, the power of the color television in the stand-by mode was only 0. 8 Ws (the AC 110 V, which is much better then the American FCC standard that the power consume of TV set must less than 1 W in the stand-by mode, which made it possible that this kind of products can be sold in the American market.The article is organized as following: the first chapter describes the urgent request and the reality of the low power equipments of stand-by mode in the international countries. The second chapter elaborates the reasons of power lost in the stand-by mode and the method to reduce the power. The third chapter compares the power supply technique among a few companies. The fourth chapter describes the project of the STR-W6556 and the actual problems, and how to optimize the MCU circuit and the other electric circuits. The last chapter is about the prospect of the low power technology of CRT color television in the stand-by mode.
