Frame rate up conversion is also called as temporal interpolation. It is mainly used for realization of the different frame rate conversion. Around the simple algorithm it directly uses each kind of frame combination to interpolate the middle frame, but does not consider the object movement, the complex algorithm carries on using the motion compensation to insert the frame. Through in the research on the frame rate up conversion algorithm, this paper develops one software which is used to realize frame rate up conversion. The frame rate of original video sequence can double by it. Furthermore, the function of man-machine intercommunication interface is integrated in this software.All the monitors ask for high quality, low cost, the real-time request to satisfy and the easy hardware to realize. After the simulation, comparison and analysis of the previous algorithms, the following algorithms are proposed in this paper:(1) Bi-directional motion estimation with PMVFAST. Improved predictive motion vector field adaptive search technique applies in bi-directional motion estimation which is used for frame rate up conversion.(2) Adaptive variable size block motion estimation. It's full use of the information of the known frames, as the basis of Interpolation frame invariable block movement estimate.(3) Improved vector field smoothness algorithm. It makes the improvement to the classics median vector filter in harmony with motion estimation, replaces traditional OBMC to reduce blocking artifacts.
