Compared with Cathode Ray Tube(CRT),Plasma Display Panel(PDP) and Digital Light Processing(DLP),Liquid Crystal Display(LCD) has the advantages of flatter,higher sensitivity,thinner and more colorful,which make it the main equipment of flat panel display.To make sure its expanding future,it is necessary to improve its display quality,especially the brightness and uniformity.Since LCD itself is not luminiferous,the design of Backlight System,which is valuable in both theory and application,becomes the focus of the research in display and imaging domain.Currently,the main problems that LCD industry is faced with are light guiding and brightness improvement.The paper analyzed several reasons of light energy attenuation while traveling in the LCD Backlight System,by using software this paper explored some contents,such as:①exploring the arrangement of V-Cut and network of the light guide plates;②exploring the best value of the network size;③exploring the angle and thickness of V-Cut slot;④exploring the regional distribution methods;⑤adding Brightness Enhancement Film(BEF).This paper built the 3D model of Backlight System using Light Tools,simulated the whole optical system by Monte Carlo ray trace techniques,and viewed the output of illuminance and intensity in a wide variety formats,making it easy for further debug and perfect.As for the structure of V-Cut slot,this paper used polynomial,radioactive,Bessel and some other different layouts;through simulation and verification,this paper got an ideal arrangement,that is the arrangement of polynomial;on this basis,this paper designed the slot with different angles and depths,and then this paper got the best values of them;by using MATLAB software,this paper made data process and analysis,summarized the law and drew conclusions;through the simulation and verification of BEF,this paper used the same method.As for network structure,this paper got the best Polynomial-region-wide and the layout and size structure of network by the design of different arrangements and the simulation of software;on the basis of the whole region layout,this paper explored the design of the regional distribution layout which improved the phenomenon of bright and dark spots when Light guide plate was designed at the entire region;by using MATLAB software,this paper made data process and analysis,summarized the law and drew conclusions.On the basis of preliminary work,the integrated LGP with BEF was discussed to make small screen display equipment having smaller size and better quality.This paper discussed on the reasons for the differences of experimental design and practical application and the problems and solutions of Light Guide Plates in the process of processing.
