Software testing is the core of software engineering, and it's also the key of software quality assurance. As the core of digitize avionics system on large aircraft,FMS(Flight Management System) has many functions, such as area navigation, guidance, performance management and so on. FMS is the most complex avionics device on aircraft. In the critical system of aerospace, software errors may result in serious consequences. So it's very important to carry on strict software testing during the development of FMS. As paid more attentions to the quality of software, the research on software testing technology has made a considerable progress. However, with the characteristics of real-time performance, embed ability and high reliability of FMS, ensuring reliability of software requires not only specific tools and advanced technology, more importantly requires a complete set of solutions.Firstly, this dissertation studies the basic technology of software testing and embedded software testing. Requirements Based Testing(RBT) is considered an effective test method. Secondly, this dissertation makes system analyses of FMS, studies the writing of software requirements emphatically. Once more, based on the analyses of the technology and tools of software testing automation, this dissertation researches the application of software testing automation for testing FMS, which can improve the efficiency and the quality of software testing.Based on these research results, this dissertation summarizes the technology and strategies for testing FMS, optimizes the software test procedure of FMS, and proposes the requirements based testing model for FMS. At last, the proposed testing strategies and model are verified in a practical test project, proving that the strategies and model can improve the efficiency and ensure the quality of FMS.
