Under the development of the new advanced technology, distributed network structure, new standard display and control panel and interactive man-machine interface which bases on "window system" are widely adopted in modern ship equipment system. This process simplifies operational program and make it more understandable and applicable. Navigation technologies are increasingly sophisticated with substantial outcomes in hardware and software. However, the outcomes cannot apply in analysis of internal data directly, while data dependability in navigation system becoming more and more requisite. Therefore, the research in the dependability of transmission and storage data is necessary. The navigation system's reliability certainly request that the data in the transmission network must be dependable. However, in the data transmitting or storage, suddenness and malfunction can always happen. As for this, a model of the data reliability is analyzed and given. This model analyses the character of the data transmitting and data storage, and provides foundation of a theoretic model for the reliability research.Secondly, this paper introduces several modes and transmitting principles of data transmission in navigation system. Aiming at the diversified communication patterns Hamming code application, which is one encrypting and deciphering arithmetic, is put forward together with the given realization and simulation results.Last, the scheme of the research of storage data reliability is finally given. The presented methods of redundancy backup and automatic monitoring satisfy the strict request of the data dependability.
