Active and Passive positioning system is a kind of measuring equipment for the underwater targets. Passive positioning replies on the radiated noise of target to position without cooperation acoustic beacons, and active positioning system replies on processing signals from the acoustic beacons equipped on the underwater targets. This paper mainly discussed the design of the electronic platform based on acoustic beacons of the active positioning system.Acoustic transmitters play an important role in the underwater systems such as acoustic positioning, navigation, detection and so on. Its performance directly influences the positioning accuracy, measurement accuracy and function distance of the system. This paper discussed the energy requirement and external interfaces of acoustic beacons, and then introduced every components including driving signal generator, power amplifier and transducer matching and so on. This paper also introduced the driving signal generator using TI series low power MCUs and analyzed the requirement of acoustic beacons from the perspective of power. After discussing the efficiency of several power amplifier forms, it gave out the design principle based on the D-class power amplifier. This paper also designed the impedance matching network based on transformers and series resonant circuits and quantitatively analyzed the various parameter values.Through testing the acoustic beacons in the cistern, the transducer performed well in the working band and achieved the design requirements.
