Now high-speed long-distance underwater data transmission hasn't been accomplished satisfactorily. Relay transmission is a good method to likely to solve the problem. The Underwater repeater with AUV designed in the paper is based on the thought, which realizes high-speed long-distance underwater data transmission by the method similar with microwave relay transmission.The massive operation load of scientific computation and high speed real-time signal processing should be realized with collaborative parallel processing system instead of the conventional single-processor system with limited processing capability. ARM and DSP double processors hardware structure is used in our systems.The main content and study work in the paper as follow:The first task is to research and simulate the communications algorithms to be used in the system, analyze the factors which constrain the design of repeater, and determine the hardware scheme.The second task is to design hardware circuit. Real time, low noise, low power, wide dynamic range, high accuracy and high stability are the main demands. In the design, we use AT91RM9200 of ATMEL Corporation as the core of the Embedded Systems, and TMS320VC5510A of TI Corporation as the core of the high data processing to help ARM to process data.The last task is to configure system, including configuring CODEC, setting up data channels, configuring U-Boot of System, which can make the system provide correlative functions, and is helpful to develop and upgrade the system further.
