Flight simulator can help to analyze the accident and flying quality control by replaying the aircraft attitude, which uses the air-ground data link technology. In order to increase the replaying accuracy of the simulator, a reasonable closed-loop control is needed. Attitude sensors can feedback the simulator's attitude information to implement real-time control. An attitude and heading system, which united a 3-axis accelerometer, a 3-axis magneto resistive sensor and a 3-axis rate gyroscope, was designed for simulator control in this paper. The heading and attitude are the most important information for aircrafts, which can be obtained by the attitude sensors. They require more accuracy and reliability as the civil aviation technology grows. Gyroscope is the widely used attitude sensor. However, the high performance gyroscope is not suitable for small flight simulator, because of its bulky and high prices. In recent years, micro-mechanical gyroscope developed greatly as automobile industry grew. It is one of the best choices for a miniature attitude measurement system because of its size and low cost. However, it is relatively low accuracy and the drift will cause more errors. In light of this situation, an error compensating method was proposed. By fusing the data of accelerometers and magneto resistive sensor, the drift attitude error of the velocity gyroscope could be compensated. And an attitude measurement system for the small flight simulator was designed.
