Research On Engineering Drawing Retrieval System Based On Sketch

Along with the application of CAD technology,the management of engineering drawing by paper characteristics has been taken place by electronic drawings.Nowadays,the query for engineering drawing are based on keywords, which has the merit of quick speed and simple technology. However,the retrieval way based on keywords has lots of limitations which are consuming more time and labor to label a drawing manually and difficult to describe a engineering drawing through only words.By the study on related technology, this paper introduces the sketch technology to the retrieval of engineering drawing and the way by keywords is inherited. This paper presents a sketch-based engineering drawings retrieval framework which is based on N-tiers and is composited of retrieval condition preprocessing,the archive of engineering drawing, feature extraction, shape matching and relevance feedback.The sketch is identified to primitive components by retrieval condition preprocessing.The archive of engineering drawing is the procedures which analyse the engineering drawing,extract features and store the engineering drawing into database.The shape information expressed by both sketch and engineering drawing is changed to the form of XML. the paper proposed a store method for engineering drawing by SOA.Through the analysis of image information,the three features of hiraychy feature,shape feature and spatial feature are combined to finish the shape matching.The sketch-based engineering drawings retrieval system has been completed.while developing the system,the technology of MVC,RIA and Silverlight are adopted and the sytem has been put in use.
