Fingerprint verification is an important biometric technique for personal identification. And it is also the maturest branch of biometric technique. Fingerprint recognition technique is safer and has more feasibility than the traditional security system, at the same time, it can use our body's physical characters to enhance the reliability of personal identification. So fingerprint verification has been widely used in a very broad range. At the present day, the combination of fingerprint verification and embedded systems would make this technique have a broad application prospect in different kinds of security control fields. This paper did some elementary research on embedded automated fingerprint identification system. Thinking of the high ability of data signal process of DSP chip including the outstanding performance and low cost of FPS200 fingersensor, in this paper we construct an AFIS based on FPS200, the processor DSP TMS320VC5416 of TI company, the single-chip machine (SCM) P89C58 of PHILIPS company and the Embedded Real-Time Operating SystemμC/OS-Ⅱ.The main content of this paper is as follows.①Gathering fingerprint image by Solid-State sensor FPS200 of Veridicom company;②Hardware Design and realization of AFIS based on DSP and single-chip machine;③The circuit design and realization of keyboard input and LCD display modules;④The design of extended memory and the extended I/O bus of the single-chip machine control module;⑤Discussing the concrete process of the Embedded Real Time KernelμC/OS-Ⅱporting on P89C58 in detail. The research and design in this thesis provides an effective approach for the broad application of AFIS on the security control fields.
