With the development of infrared detector, infrared imaging technique is applied widely in the areas of navigation, exploration and search, scientific research, safety monitoring and so on. In order to make infrared imaging technique known and learnt conveniently, it is significant and worthy to design open infrared imaging system.Based on sufficient analysis of system demand, hardware platform with various functions is built for infrared imaging system in this paper. The platform is mainly composed of CCD image acquisition, DSP processing, FPGA processing, peripheral interface and power module. Functions of image data such as acquisition, transmission, processing, display and storage can be implemented by this platform.After operations of correlated double sampling, programmable gain and analog-digital conversion, the acquired infrared signal is input to DSP in digital form. And corresponding operation is completed according to external keyboard command. The operations are as follows:①Infrared image is processed, such as image enhancement, image de-noising and so on.②Image data is stored in MMC card.③Image data is transmitted to computer via USB interface.④Image data is transmitted to FPGA processor for subsequent processing, and the image is displayed on LCD.Contents of this project are as follows: device selection, schematic diagram design, PCB board design and initialization procedure design of DSP peripheral.In device selection, chips of CCD, image preprocessing, DSP and FPGA are mainly discussed. The system performance is largely determined by the chip selection. The overall framework of hardware platform is built based on these main devices. And the local hardware circuit design is analyzed carefully, and then circuit schematics and PCB plans are designed through Protel software.In order to complete hardware platform debugging, the initialization procedure of DSP peripherals are written in this paper. The peripherals are mainly composed of McBSP,ADC,I~2C,MMC,USB and DMA. The software development environment used in this system is CCS2.2. And initialization procedure is written based on DSP/BIOS and CSL. It is the foundation for image data transmission and image processing algorithms realization of the system.
