Workflow Technology And Its Application In Office Automation System

With the rapid increase in the business of enterprises,more and more attention are paid to norms and efficiency in office. The realization of office automation is significant to regulate business,increase efficiency and reduce costs. Workflow technology is an important technology for office automation system, because most of the function models in the system need to use workflow. As the core of the office automation system, document management sub-system mainly implements daily documents and fully reflects the application of workflow technology in the office automation system. This article will analyze and design the document management sub-system in details.Firstly,this paper reviews the historical development of office automation and workflow technology, introduces the present research status and development trends of the workflow technology in the country and abroad, explains 3R principle as well as the application and significance of the workflow technology in the system.Secondly, it introduces the theoretical basis of workflow technology, focuses on function features and construction of workflow management system and the role of petri-net in workflow models.Thirdly,through comparison, it selects Lotus Domino/Notes as development platform for office automation system based on workflow technology, analyzes its mechanism and the realization of technology as well as accounting.Finally, it shows the whole design for W's office automation system, analyzes the document transfer process of document management sub-system in use of 3R principle of workflow technology. Also, it divides the traditional flow into defined task, role, regulation as well as condition to achieve the automatic processing.And on that basis, combined with Lotus Domino/Notes platform for workflow ideas, the paper designs the document management sub-system.This system has been finished. At present,it has been debugged successfully in the corporation network environment and runs. Its effect is very good,then its stability and reliability are validated.
