Sensor technology is one of the measurement technology,semiconductor technology,computer technology,information processing technology,micro-electronics, optics,acoustics,precision instruments,bionics and materials science and other subjects mutual plus a comprehensive cross-intensive high-tech and cutting-edge technologies.It is important basis for new technological revolution and modern information society, and it is important and indispensable component for automatic detection and automatic control technology.At the present,the sensors have become an important part of the our life.Fiber Optic Sensor is a high-tech discipline which melts fiber optics, micro-electronics,precision machinery,computers and technologies.It is a difficult technological industry with extensive cooperation of multi-subject.Therefore,is is very important to in-depth study of the theory and principles of the new fiber-optic sensor developmentThe article describes the basic principles of fiber-optic sensors,Fiber-optic Michelson and fiber-optic Mach-Zehnder interferometers,as well as Fiber-optic Michelson and fiber-optic Mach-Zehnder interferometers of the research and application.On this basis,A kind of temperature sensor device based on all-fibre Mach-Zehnder interferometer is designed through phase modulation method.The Mach-Zehnder interferometer has been studied experimently.During experiment, through changing the path difference of the two arms of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer by changing the temperature,we study the relationship between the output spectrum of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer and external temperature.Adopting the wavelength scale method,we get the relationship between the shifting wavelength and external temperature While temperature is from 26℃—80℃.The tuning range is 0.957nm.The phase range is about 4πThe fitting linearity is up to 0.972.The experimental results show good consistency with the theoretical ones.The electric voltage sensor based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer is also studied in this thesis.The reference arm of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer is attached on a cylindraceous PZT.The electrodes is sealed at the outer and inner side of the PZT cylinder.The PZT will elongate at the lognitudinal direction when an electric voltage is applied on the electrodes.Hence,the fiber which enwind the PZT cylinder will extended.The length change of two arms of the interferometer will induce the drift of the interferometric fringe.After scaling,we can get the voltage when we know how many interferometric fringes drift.One "dc" electric manostat power supply is used to change the voltage applied on the PZT cylinder.The voltage range is from-28.7 to 28.7 volt.The linear fitting factor of the experimental result is 0.9991.The tuning range of the interferometric fringe is 2.18nm,which corresponds that the fringe moves about 1.95π.So The tuning sensitivity is 0.038nm/Volt.In chapter 4,the fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer and Micheson interferorneter is numerically studied in detail,from where some inportant results are gotten. Subsequently,several application examples are given in the later section of this chapter.This article provides an overview of the fiber-optic sensor development of the world.,research and design based on all-fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer phase of the optical-fiber sensor.The current research status of domestic and overseas fiber optic sensors are summarized in this paper.And then a kind of phase modulation fiber-optic sensor based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer structure is designed and studied.The all-fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer is an important interference devices with the virtues of small size,[ight weight,compact structure and high sensitivity.Therefore, many important applications of it has been found and will be developed during the fiber-optic communications and optical sensing regions.Experimental results show that the design of the sensor has the advantages of simple-structure,higher-sensitivity,low-price,easy to apply in practice.So it has extensive application value in the sensing regions.
