The Analysis To The Image Of Chinese Mainland In CBS-RTI Net In DPP Times

The image of Chinese mainland in Taiwan's media is shaped by many parts not only including print media,radio and television and Internet,but also including commercial media,public media and official media.The image research of the Chinese mainland in Taiwan's media focused on the the commercial newspapers,especially on the traditional viewed surported-unification newspapers,so it failed to fully reflect Taiwan's media on the image of Chinese mainland.This article choose the Taiwan's official RTI as a sample to explore the image of the mainland.The author selected 1121 report samples referred to the mainland from December 2007 to January 2008 and found some points through qualitative and quantitative analysis.The news reports highlighted the economic,political,the two sides, social and diplomatic issues in setting the agenda on the mainland;The objective report was widely operated as a press concept of media's operation,but the ideological factor influenced the China's internal affairs and the field of human rights;The mainland reports was mainly from Central News Agency and foreign media;The anonymous reports occupied a large proportion and the authenticity of some reports was questioned;The reports embodied the voices from the political, economic and cultural elite.The image of the Chinese mainland in the Taiwan' official RTI asically reflected the official view.The reason for such a shape,the author thinks the cross-strait relations have become the main reason for the negative image of Chinese mainland;The location of RTI is another reason from a propaganda radio station to a "State"media in order to promote Taiwan's "democratic experience" and hinder cross-strait unification process contrasting the mainland's negative image in the control of DPP;Interest groups and public opinion can influence the image;The Taiwanese's misunderstandings to mainland can influence the image,and mainland's own problems are excused by the Taiwan authorities and the media.Studying RTI's news operations will help us deepen the understanding about it and know our image.We can take effective measures in response to it.
