In recent years, with economic development all kinds of high-grade residential quarters distribute throughout all corners of the cities. However, the crimes of the residential quarters increase at the same time. In order to ensure the quarters and the non-public safety, people often hire administrators to work to achieve security. But relying on human are not only inefficient but also costly. As a result, it is an inevitable trend that residential areas use the modern security system. For the shortcomings of the existing security system, the thesis makes a security proposal based on moving object detection. Through the configuration of the camera, the system detects moving objects in the track automatically and makes the appropriate follow-up treatments.The graduation project of residential quarters security monitoring and control system is based on actual project, using the modern advanced embedded system as the platform, the system uses S3C2410 as the core of hardware system and embed Windows CE as operating system. On this basis, the project develops the program of moving objects detection, tracking, storage and SMS, then optimizes the program according to the characteristics of embedded platform.The thesis describes the framework of the security system based S3C2410 platform in detail, including the design and development process of hardware and software system. First of all, the thesis introduces the moving objects detected knowledge and the study status in domestic and abroad. Then, the thesis introduces the concepts and characteristics of embedded systems and detail design of the hardware system. The third, the thesis introduces the transplant of the embedded operating system-Windows CE. The fourth, the thesis details the design and implementation of the software system, referring to the design of detection of moving objectives algorithm. Finally, the project carries out tests in order to ensure a robust, efficient and practical system. In addition, this thesis sums up the results achieved in project development and outlook the related research for future.
