FEM (finite element method) is strong method of numerical analysis and it is widely applied to numerical analysis. But the premise of finite element analysis is discrete grid, and grid subdivision method is used to tetrahedral grid and hexahedral grid, and the tetrahedral grid subdivision method is fairly mature and it is successfully used to business software, but because of structure complexity of hexahedral grid, there is no universal method. Though subdivision method of some business finite element software such as ANSYS has stronger function of grid subdivision, there are still many problems during using, for example, subdividing manually, expensing much time, longer learning cycle, more subdivision experience.To achieve automatic grid subdivision program, the text use Visual C++6.0 as development tool, C++ as development language, and OPENGEL as graphics library, also use object-oriented programmer method to develop grid subdivision program for earth and rockfill dam. This text also gives corresponding arithmetic thought and program. This text does the following works:1. Analyzing the difficulty and feature of earth and rockfill dam subdivision, extracting overall character, basing on backstepping side method, combining the features of all kinds of earth and rockfill dam, this text give the dam subdivision method.2. According to the features of large model having large data and memory, to achieve real display effect of, giving the arithmetic of using OPENGEL to achieve memory drawing, dynamic survey and illumination.
