With the fast development of digital information, more and more demands lead to data storage technology. Hard disk driver has been one of the primary storage devices. Hard disk driver is based on magnetic recording theory. The head generates magnetic field and magnetizes the medium of disk. Different magnetic directions represent the binary code of data.Disk imaging technology deduces the magnetic field distribution from the voltage signal generated by the head, when it flies across the magnetic field of disk. This technology can present the magnetic density distribution by a picture. First, after researching on the communication mechanism between host and hard disk driver, proposes a method to control the driver under user mode. Then, analyzes the influence of noise in collected information and proposes an adaptive filter algorithm to filter the signal. At last, the magnetic density distribution on disk is deduced according transform between voltage waveform and magnetic density.Disk imaging technology can be used to detect and analyze the problems with magnetic recording on the disk. It is improved by experiment that this technology can present the magnetization situation on disk clearly. Compared to traditional imaging technology by magnetic force microscope, this technology is quicker and more efficient. It has wide potential application in hard disk manufacture.
