Since the 1990's of the 20th century, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has become prevalent in many domains with the rapid development of VLSI technology and network communication. RFID technology can improve the quality of people's life and promote the economic efficiency of enterprises. it also can improve public safety and the level of social information. RFID technology has broad market prospects.Based on the current research and development of RFID technology, FM1725 contactless IC chip of Shanghai Fudan Microelectronic Corporation and Mifare standard MF1 IC S50 contactless IC card are choosed to research 13.56MHz RFID system. In this thesis, the advantages of RFID, and backgrounds, development, and basic components of RFID system, system principle are introduced. Then the overall program of RFID Reader system and Transponder are described in details. In this thesis, the design of RFID Reader system is elaborated in details in two parts: hardware design and software design. The hardware design of Reader involves design of power supply circuit, and design of radio frequency module, antenna, and design of main control module. The design of radio frequency module involves oscillator circuit design, parallel interface circuit design and RF antenna interface circuit design. The software design of Reader involves the main program design and the design of various subroutine modules by signal operating process. Finally, the circuits and programs of the RFID Reader system are debugged and analyzed. the result verifies accuracy of the RFID Reader system design.
