Research On Universal Policy Management Model For Accessing Equipment Of Mobile Core Networks Based On SBC

The evolution of mobile core networks brings a lot of border issues, in order to keep up the ability of security, configuration and management, it is important to introduce the Session Border Controller (SBC). As the accessing equipment of mobile core network, not only does SBC do the job of NAT traversing, but also should provide the ability of encryption, Quality of Service (QoS) assurance and lawful interception. In recent years, the technique of policy based network management (PBNM) arises, and it provides flexible management functionality. It will be quite useful to introduce the technology of PBNM to the management of SBC, so administrator can manage the ability of encryption, QoS assurance and lawful interception easily.The structure of policy varies from different application environments, and this situation makes difficult for keeping the scalability of policy. Therefore, a Universal Policy Management Model is proposed to do the manage job of encryption, QoS assurance and lawful interception. And by using the Object Orient technology, we construct the common policy class, and by inheriting the common policy class, the exact management policy for application module in SBC can be achieved. Due to the abstract and common ability, Universal Policy Model can scale easily.In the field of Policy Based Network Management technique, the role becomes the bridge of policy and management object. It is important to introduce role to Universal Policy Model. Different roles are assigned to management objects. Assisted by information collection module in SBC, the role of management object can be changed automatically, as well as the management job.The conflicts of policies are unavoidable, and the conflicts do exist in Universal Policy Model. So, it is necessary to analyze the potential policy conflicts in Universal Policy Management Model, and some researches should be done on detecting the conflict dynamically during the enforcement of policy. After that, conflicts can be solved by policy priority setting.On the basis of research work, the software design of Universal Policy Management Model is given out. After analyzing the requirements of Policy Decision Point Module, Local Policy Decision Point Module, Policy Enforcement Point Module and Policy Query Interface Module carefully, the details of each module in Universal Policy Management Model are provided.
