As an information time is coming, information has been integrated into the most important resource of enterprises. MIS (Management Information System) can bring enterprises a lot of advantages. For example, it can optimize management methods, norm management model, improve working efficiency, improve the information standard of staff, drive enterprises progress, establish good image of enterprises. This material management system is an active response to above requirements.In this thesis, Ertan MIS based on IFS Foundation1 and Oracle database is introduced. IFS Foundation 1 is a product of Beijing UF IFS Company, and, Oracle Database Management System is a product of ORACLE Company. The thinking of Software Engineering is combined with the designing of MIS. In the platform mentioned above, Ertan Material Information Management System is designed and implemented successfully.During the process of designing, the requirement analysis, general design, database design, detail designing is introduced with the developing procedures acting as the main streamline. The details include system structure diagram, business flow chart, the realization and relationship of the physical table, the key technologies in system the process of implementing.The MIS mentioned in this thesis can promote the efficiency of materials management of Ertan Company. This system has security features which eliminated the possibility of unauthorized operation. System Management is combined with Database Management. In this way, data security can be guaranteed. Besides, Interfaces of the system are simple and beautiful, as well, the system can be operated and setup easily.This system is a typical Management Information System. The method of designing is universal. This thesis is meaningful to persons who develop the similar MIS.
