The Ad Hoc network is composed of a collection of mobile nodes, which are connected together by their wireless links. In this environment, mobile nodes may function as communication terminals or intermediate nodes (routers). More and more civil communications such as rescue operations and city bus communication are adopting Ad Hoc networks in recent years. It is known that medium access control (MAC) plays an important role on linkutilization and fairness issue, Particularly in wireless Ad Hoc networs, MACmechaims would become more complicated because of hidden-terminal andexposed-terminal occurrence and frequenct changes of network topology. This paper on the above issued, and the former on the basis of an agreement to improve. Providing quality of service (QoS) in Ad Hoc Networks was a complicated system problem. Medium Access Control (MAC) layer was a critical factor for supporting QoS in upper layer. A MAC protocol called QADAPT for providing OoS guarantee based on the ADAPT protocol was proposed. QADAPT could support for fair access and assure bounded access delay with real traffic. The simulation result show that QADAPT improved the successful transmit ratio of real traffic compared with ADAPT.
