On the basis of analyzing the theory of distributed computation and one of the principal application techniques of data warehouse-Online Analy-tical processing(OLAP),this paper designs and implements an OLAP system by adopting principal and subordinate servers of multi-replication application.The OLAP system by adopting principal and subordinate servers of multireplication application is brought forward principally for the defects of single OLAP system such as stability,expansibility,quick response and uninterrupted run. Several single OLAP servers with the same data are combined systemati-cally into the new system by adopting the technique of principal and subordi-nate multi-servers. The new system provides services for its clients.Firstly this paper studies the data warehouse and OLAP theory to some extent, and especially it researches deeply on the organization structure of data warehouse and the multi-dimension characteristic,data organization mode of OLAP.The paper brings forward the divisible theory of multi-dimension on the research of multi-dimension query language.It also makes some research on the development trend of OLAP,and it brings forward the idea of multi-replication servers on the research of multi-server system.Furthermore the paper makes a deep study on system organization and load distribution of multi-replication server system.Then the paper takes a great deep study on data updating of multi-replication server system, it advances the unblock data updating theory,and provides four algorithmic of data updating and data harmonization at updating organiger and replication nodes.According to the research and theory achieved above and the purposes and condition relative of graduate design,and by the deep study on OLAP sys-tem and distributed technique,we conclude that the new system is a principal and subordinate OLAP system of multi-replication application which adopts TCP/IP network technique and multi-replication server.Then system analysis and system design are done on the new system according software project.At last,system is optimized thoroughly,it emphasizes on OLAP multi-dimension database and principal and subordinate server.In detail it includes the optimization of data source,cube,MDX and the adoption of multi-thread technique and the development of intelligent query division.
