The Research And Implementation Of The Network Video Surveillance Management System Based On SNMPv3

With the specialty of less accessory equipment, low cost, simple operation and easy maintenance, network video surveillance (NVS) is regarded as the mainstream technology of video surveilliance system in the further. How to manage the system simply and effectively is the hot issue which is researched in recent years. At present, the management of NVS is mostly arranged by various producers, who programming corresponding software to the equipment they manufactured. However, as the enlarging scale and getting complicated of NVS, it is difficult to manage the various NVS equipments in different producers and types unified. So, a general management platform based on standard network management protocol is needed to realize the unified management to NVS.Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a standard network management protocol which is made up by Internet Engineering Task Force (IEFT). SNMP has been widely recognized as its simpleness, scalability and robustness, now it is the most widely used network management protocol. SNMPv3 is the third edition of SNMP, Compared with SNMP, SNMPv3 is accessed with User-based Security Model (USM) and View-based Access Control Model (VACM), by which the security of protocol is enhanced.This paper complete a network video supervisory management system based on SNMPv3. Firstly, this paper studies the Simple Network Management Protocol, especially the User-based Security Model (USM) and View-based Access Control Model (VACM) of SNMPv3; Secondly, a NVS terminal equipment is designed, and a SNMPv3 agent is embedded in it; Finally, This paper complete a network video supervisory management system based on SNMPv3.
