Storage devices with high-speed and large-capacity are usually needed in underwater acoustic applications. Traditional mechanical hard disk is often adopted, but its mechanical structure causes the defects of slow, unstable and high-cost. For this reason, the Solid State Disk (SSD) was invented. It is a kind of storage device using semiconductor device as storage medium. Without the mechanical structure of traditional hard disk, it becomes much faster. In recent years, with the rapid development of semiconductor devices, SSD has a wider foreground of applications. Although a few kinds of SSD products with high-speed and large-capacity have appeared, they can not realize high-speed storage when facing a mass of continuing data.Extended IDE interface, parallel connection of the FLASH arrays and pipelining of ARM and FPGA are adopted to make sure the storage of high-speed, continuing data. In this way, the average write speed of SSD is increased. The fine flexibility and expansibility can satisfy the increasing needs for the storage capacity. IDE interface and USB are used for the data transmission between the FLASH arrays and PC.The main content of this thesis includes the demonstration of the entire system scheme, the design of system schematic circuit diagram and PCB, the programming and debugging for the system software.
