Pick-place equipment is an important part in surface mount technology product line. It has a decisive effect on production,precision, efficiency, output, capacity of integral product line and also has a broad prospect in domestic application. High-speed and high-precision are an important performance of pick-place equipment. A great deal of theoretical research has been done by the researchers to solve the high-speed and high-precision contradiction in pick-place equipment. In this paper lucubrate has been done according to existing model of it..By improving mechanical structure and designing pivotal part, placement precision is enhanced with considering speed at the same time.Modular design has been applied to the mechanical structure of SMT in this paper. Through the structure analysis of typical pick-place equipment, x-y linkage trabeated style positioning system is designed. Placement head manipulator is the soul of the machine; its structure has an immediate influence on entire machine's precision and speed. In this paper 8 bit arch manipulator for placement head are designed. Feeders for pneumatic ratchet wheel in-phase are designed, which must be simple and also manufactured easily. Finally it has to meet the theory requirements. Other parts are also designed, including: track transmission system, suction nozzle replacement machine and so on.Using Pro/E engineering software, the 3D model of each parts in pick-place equipment are established; reasonable assemble sequence is formulated, after all above, the entity model is generated. Static and modal of the beam are analysed by using ansys software. Servo precision of mechanical transmission system is analysed by simulink module of matlab, thus accuracy and speed of placeing element is analysed and calculated.The machine is proved to be well-working through testify.
