The TDRSS (Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System) is a system which can supply the data relay and TT&C (Telemetry Tracking and Command) service for the aircraft which are low and middle earth orbit and other aircrafts, aircraft and earth station. As a novel space-based tracking, telemetry and command system, the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System (TDRSS) represents a new direction in the international tracking telemetry and command field. In this paper, the performance of TDRSS's communication is studied.Firstly, the structure of TDRSS is specified. Setting the link signal model and the FEC coding format used in TDRSS is analysed. Discusses the ranging subsystem and capture subsystem technologically, especially their technical index, and puts forward the solution.Secondly, according to the structure and operation theoris, the simulation system is designed. The layer structure and relationships amoun models are analyzed. Modelings of simulation system's components are gived. At last,TDRSS simulation system is established.Finally, it discusses the PN acquisition algorithm used in this system, analyzes the key index and puts forward the solution. Whereafter analyzes the simulation results, discusses system performance under the different coding format and transmit channel, and provides the BER of this system, dissertates TDRSS's performance under three interference Through performing computer simulation and result analysis, it is clear that the TDRSS with the selected signal format is right and feasible. Providing a quantitative analysis means to enact the index of TDRSS overall design and coding system design.
