With the development of P2P, the management of P2P network has been an important problem of P2P field. How to reduce the consumption of network bandwidth is a hot point in P2P network research. The structure of P2P network, the communication and the maintenance between peers, the sharing of resources are contained in the management of P2P network.In this thesis, the typical algorithms of P2P network are researched. Flooding and random walker are mainly used in unstructured P2P network. In these ways, network bandwidth is excessively consumed or randomness is brought when group is selected. The network structure is strictly required in the algorithms of structure P2P network, which are mainly used to analyze in theory. On the basis of deep analysis of different P2P network structures, the semantic coverage network based on peer location information and group structure is selected to reduce the consumption of network bandwidth. The key algorithms of the semantic coverage network is researched and improved to resolve the problems of typical algorithms in the unstructured P2P network. Firstly, SAGMHC is proposed. The members of good handling capability are selected as the administrators of the group to avoid selecting administrators frequently and enhance the stability of the group. Secondly, PNIG and PNEG are proposed. The message is sent according to some proportion to reduce the amount of message both the internal and the external of the group, so the consumption of network bandwidth is reduced. Finally, JNG is proposed. The message sent by new member is flooded in a small range. The group of nearest physical location is select to join in. When resources are shared between members, the consumption of time is reduced and the efficiency of sharing resources is improved.Results of experiments show that the improved algorithms can make the management of P2P network convenient, reduce the amount of message in the system, reduce the consumption of network resources, improve the efficiency of sharing resources and improve the whole performance of the system.The whole performance of the system can be improved by applying the improve algorithms, which are worth applying actually. They can promote the development of P2P network and offer reference for the further research.
