With the development of Internet, network application has become the focal point of research of computer system applications. As the same time, Peer to Peer network as an important network structure has great impact over development of network applications. This paper mainly discusses and proposes a multi-agent framework based on structured P2P network which named P2P-MAF (P2P based Multi-Agent Framework) in this paper. The P2P-MAF combines P2P network with multi-agent system, which supports a variety of operations in P2P network, such as service publication, service search, agent communication, and agent mobility. The P2P-MAF which must play a certain role in promoting multi-agent and distributed applications also has features of stability, opening, universality and scalability, based on which many kinds of multi-agent applications or distributed applications can be developed rapidly.Firstly, this paper reviews some basic theory of agent and P2P network; secondly, based on these theories and software development methodology, P2P-MAF is designed and implemented. Last, four typical applications are list and illuminated in detail to show that the design of P2P-MAF can achieve the original objectives. These four applications include high-order dense matrix multiplication, distributed management system, enhanced PSO based on multi-agent and a simple Tic-tac-toe game theory system based on reflex agent. All these applications achieve satisfactory results and also show the characteristics of P2P-MAF from different aspects. So, we can deduce that development of P2P-MAF is success and P2P-MAF itself is worthy of study.
