A Mie scattering lidar is good for monitoring atmospheric aerosol and cloud .But normal lidar is big in bulk ,weighty in mass,expensive in cost. Based on an advanced technology of laser and detector, Micro Pulse Lidar (MPL) is developed in 1990's. In the thesis, based on analyzing the character of the MPL in receiving of signal, data collectting system is developed, which is avail for MPL be made in our country.The frame of design and actualized scheme is expounded in this thesis. Two parts are included in collecting system ,they are hardware and software. The data collecting system is made up of commercial detector and counter developed by ourselves. The detector is CPM that is made in Germany and controlling card is AC1080. The counter is composed by hardware and software. In the design , the chip of TMS320VC5402 is used . The function of timer and interrupt are used. The software programmed with assemble language and C language . The counter is used for collecting signal ,counting photoelectron and save data. The soft of collectting sysytem has some function,for example, man-machine conversation, displaying the data real time,diagnosing by itself,and so on.The finished system is can work automatic. The measured result from the counter is compared with TP914P counter's ,which is show that the design is feasible and the data is credible.The data by the lidar is analysised. These curves show that MPL is able to be used for measuring visibility ,aerosol extinction coefficient ,cloud etc. The aerosol extinction coefficient is 0.1 in clean atmosphere and exceed 1 in dirty atmosphere.
