In the paper , a developing actuality on lidar and theory of extinction properties of atmospherical aerosol based on lidar detection are summarized . A system of lidar on the basis of Mie scattering is presented ; The detected results of aerosol extinction are analysed emphatically . The results show that ,compared with other seasons in 2004 , the content of aerosol over the middle and upper layers in the troposphere are more excessive in Spring ; But in Winter , there is a distinct clear layer , even over 3km height , which expresses that the atmosphere is more clear in this season . The analysis presents that , excluded the Spring season , the height of aerosol boundary layer changes from 0.712km to 2.494km with a mean value of 1.692km ; It reachs maximum mean value of 2.08km in August and minimum one of 0.895km in Winter . The statistic results indicate that horizontal visibility in Suzhou city changes from 5.0km to 32.1km with a mean value of 13.38km , which achieves mean value of 21.832km in Winter . In addition , the extinction coefficient distribution of clouds and its'dynamic evolvement are detected and analysed . In the end , the summarization on the whole paper is made ; Several points of innovation in the thesis are also pointed out .
