Application Of XML Technology In Unitive Equipment Management Center

With the continuous growth of networks, its complexity and isomerism is increasing and the network management is getting more and more important. The well designed TMN (Telecommunications management network) is able to simplify the management mode under the multi-domain mixing network environment so as to reduce the operating cost of telecommunication, which has the important significance to the telecommunication operation enterprise.At the present time, although the SNMP (Simple Network Protocol) has been extensively used in the network management, but it does not support the communication between the management domains and is not applicable to the distributed management and the network management system based on XML (eXtemsible Markup Language) which is able to self define the complex network SMI that adopting XML and conveniently implement the information transmission in network, importantly, XML is able to implement the communication of information trans-platform and system, which has a very strong universality and attracts much attention.UEMC (Unitive Equipment Management Center) based on TMN standard is the network management system in the service of the existing multiple product of the company prepared by Datang Telecom, which implements the functions of the centralized maintenance and charging and measurement.The paper introduces the XML technology and its applied advantages to network management, a brief description of the basic concept, syetem structure and management function of TMN and UEMC system. Moreover, the application of XML to UEMC system design on this basis. Basing on XML to UEMC system design, it adopts network structure in different layers, that is, combine distributed management and centralized management together, form the equipment that manage certain network segment by distributed network management, and then manage the distributed management by central management, so that the disadvantage of merely application for medium and small-scale network on SNMP network management system could be solved. Besides, the paper introduced in detail the system design content of UEMC based on XML; finally, the paper summarizes the implementation of UEMC system based on XML.
