With the development of computer and digitization technology, digital X- ray radiography replacing the traditional onscreen-film radiographic system is applied successfully in medical clinical diagnosis. Digital X-ray radiography includes computed radiography and digital radiography. How to evaluate the quality of these images becomes a very important problem. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a scientific method for evaluating the quality of radiography, so that the radiography technique is better applied in medical clinical diagnosis. In this paper, we first give a survey on the evaluating approaches for the radiography quality. According to the specification of radiography, we present three new evaluation approaches, namely, a novel MTF method, a method based on human visual interest, and a method based on wavelet, and also we make comparison on the presented approaches and the traditional ones. The experiment results show the presented approaches are better than the traditional ones, and the presented approaches are identical to the human vision perception.Because medical radiography processing needs to analyze and compute large scale data, all of experiment examples and results are implemented by Matlab programming.
