Traditional library identification methods are based on the certification cards. With the development of society, this way becomes more and more vulnerable. In order to address these challenges, people should look to the biometric technology, using the body's physiological characteristics to improve the accuracy of the identification. On our finger's surface, uneven skin will produce a variety of patterns, which is often called fingerprint. Modern anatomy and statistics have made it clear that everyone's fingerprints are different from others'and will not change for a whole life, at the same time, every finger differs from others. In other words, fingerprints are of stability and uniqueness. As a major biological recognition technology, fingerprint is widely used in the administration of justice, public security and security systems. Fingerprint recognition is one of the first areas for pattern recognition, and it develops extremely rapidly. In fact, on many occasions it has become synonymous with biometrics recognition technology. Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS, Automated Fingerprint Identification System) is the applications of the image processing, pattern recognition technology and computer technology. Its study can be traced back to the end of 1960s, after nearly 40 years of development, it has been successfully applied in the field of the justice, public security and certain commercials. However, AFIS is still one of the hot topics of pattern recognition research. With the increasing number of college students, the library need receive more readers, and there're more problems in the process of using the library, which is more obvious in the recognition of the identification card, such as: making new cards, borrowing books for others, identifying errors and so on. This brings the library and readers a great deal of inconvenience and unnecessary financial losses. In response, this article proposes the establishment of a set of fingerprints management system, which may contribute to avoid the occurrence of the problems mentioned above.First, this article introduces the types of biometric recognition, its horizontal comparison, as well as the features of fingerprint recognition which is different from other biometric recognition technologies. It analyzes the characteristics of the question, the basic principles of fingerprint recognition, as well as the fingerprint check technology such as optical sensors, and compares their advantages and disadvantages. On this basis, with the use of the SQL Sever database and the object-oriented visual programming language Visual C++6.0, which is to facilitate to operate the hardware and expand the function, it emphasizes on the program for the access control system of library fingerprint management system. With the use of fingerprints instrument AES2510, it realizes the fingerprint registration, identification, authentication and comparison, as well as the unlock signal transmission functions.Second, this paper describes the borrowing and inquiring of the library fingerprint management system, the future development of this system.
