Currently,followed the rapid development of the vision measuring technology. It is widely applied in various fields with the measuring precision is improved as well. However it is still unable to meet the requirement of the development of science and technology such as precise micro processing and on-line inspection. Therefore, researchers have to seek for new way and technology to meet the requirement. In this paper, the principium and methods of two dimensional precise detecting technology based on active vision and its successful using in engineering is described deeply. The series research achievement of this detection system has created a new way to obtain geometry parameters of large and heavy components precisely, and it can be expanded to other fields such as three-dimensional measuring, R&D on high resolution optical element, remote measuring and precise positioning in special environment. Following the development of measuring precise from micrometer to Nano,and the detecting way from point measuring to plane measuring, non-contact and high efficiency on the prior of image processing technology becomes the important developing orient of the precise measuring in new century.Based on the analyzing of the two dimensional precise measuring principium, and through the research of active vision technology, the paper presents a two dimensional precise measuring system based on active vision. The new equipment calculates the geometry parameters (length, angle, diameter, and so on) of the components by the edge dates which obtained by automatic tracing of edge, it has the higher precision. At the same time, the paper analyzes and studies the construction of the system,the automatic controlling unit, image processing and analysis, and monitoring software model, and so on. The main researches and conclusions are as follows:(1) On the basis of analyzing the two dimensional precise measuring principium, the thesis analyzes the current application of active vision in engineering practice, and put forwards the integral scheme of the alignment and automatic tracing system based on active vision. The designing and processing of the major camera servo mobile platform and the optical platform are achieved completely, and PC-based control system is achieved.(2) A new space coordinate measurement system has been established based on the automatic alignment and tracing system which is built. The system is confirmed to have the higher detection accuracy by the actual detection of standard components. The measurement precise has achieved micron. Practice has proved that the establishment of the space visual measurement coordinates has provided a theoretical basis for non-contact measurement of geometry parameter and three dimensional measurement.(3) In the measuring procession, the edge tracing mode based on array image is cheese in the system, and the edge of the target is descript by grating measuring coordinates. The precise measurement in the grating coordinates is achieved. At the same time, it resolves the contradiction between high precise measurement and small field. And the precise position is achieved in the precise measurement.(4) In the image procession, a new approach to suture edge has been used to join the edge orderly, it deletes the duplicate edge data points. Face to the massive edge information, a reasonable and effective data deleting ways in accordance with the different weight of the great error data points on the edge, it improves the accuracy of data fitting.(5) In accordance with the image processing, image analysis, automatic tracking of and the specific requirements of control units, The thesis designs the software of vision- control system based on VC + +6.0 platform, which includes the video display function, real-time monitoring function, image processing and analysis function, data storage and automatic tracking of target function.It has been proved that that the integral project of automatic alignment and tracking system based on active vision is feasible. It has the higher measurement (collimator location) accuracy, with the position precision reaches 5μand the angle measuring precise reaches 2 '.
