Flux is usually manufactured with screw extrusion technology. The consistency of theirinner and outer diameter geometry and length dimensions is directly related to theperformance of weapon launching system. Traditional measuring method uses micrometer bymanual. Thinking of the Problems of high measurement error and high risk in the previousmanual method of measuring flux-cored.In this paper the author have researched a newautomatic inspection method that can simultaneously process measuring radial andaxial measurement with the technique of applying CCD、digital image process and thecomputer. According to the production line structure,measuring project is designed andmeasuring system platform is built up.In the face of inner and outer diameter measurement of flux, the industrial CCD is usedto get the clear digital image and show it in the computer monitor for the inspector todistinguish, and complete parameter calculation according to the program. In addition, we uselaser sensor to achieve the rapid detection of flux length, according to the principle oftriangulation. At the same time, according to different results, systems can perform thecorresponding display and alarm.The basic principle of the measurement system and the design of each part of thesystem were introduced, and the noise of image processing and algorithm design is done toimprove sensor measurement accuracy. The relationship between the actual size and imagepixel values is got through system calibration. Through experimental measurement results,this paper made a comparison with artificial measurement results and discussed several majorerror which influence the accuracy of system from two aspects of random error and systemerror in the end, and the effective methods to reduce these errors have been given out,which improves the measurement accuracy and system reliability.
