This paper presents a detailed review of different de-icing techniques, almost more than thirty kinds, including thermal methods, mechanism methods and passive methods. Comparing the advantages and disadvantages of each other by considering the efficiency of energy and feasibility,this paper suggests a method of de-icing based on high power pulse laser apparatus, meanwhile introducing some other methods of de-icing and the new development direction. Laser can deice the power line on the condition of power because of good direction and high efficiency.This paper studied stress wave produced by laser on the base of the deep knowledge of the ice and pulse laser. This paper used the stress wave to deice. Making the model of stress wave produced by laser .The result indicated that 50ns of pulse width,1GW/cm2 of power destiny laser can produce 18.974MPa of pressure stress wave.On the base of theoretical study, in this experiment, we used the green laser, which the impulse peak power is 3Mw and wavelength is 0.532 micron to deice on insulation. The result of experiment indicated that it needed 150 minutes and the energy of 45kJ to deice the ice of 1 kg.. Using 1064nm laser device, 100Hz, 300w, wavelength is 1064nm, 10mm, 100HZ It indicated that it needed the energy of 50kJ to deice the ice of 1 kg..On the base of theoretical and experimental study, I advice using 300w, wavelength is 1064nm,100HZ laser to deice can have high efficiency.
