Research And Development Of SMS Forwarding Platform Based On The No.7 Signaling System

Along with the development of the information economy, the rapid and accurate SMS (short message service) in various fields has played an increasingly important role. A SMS forwarding service which is similar with call forwarding has a broad market prospect. Call forwarding was designed as a standard auxiliary service in the mobile network protocol, but none for the SMS Forwarding. It restrained the further development of SMS today in the rapid development of SMS technology. The existing SMS forwarding service is mainly achieved through the enhancement of the mobile device functions, which is provided only for particular users. Such ways have many shortcomings. It's still a blank to develop a real SMS forwarding service on the current domestic and international situation.To meet the requirement for SMS forwarding in the existing network architecture based on the addition of a new service, through the revision of certain mobile application part of the signaling process in order to achieve a high efficiency SMS forwarding platform within the entire network, reliable and high availability platform for the SMS forwarding. The core of the platform are two independent subsystems, one is for the communications with the SMS gateway or signaling transfer point, and the other process internally. By updatelocation, the platform changes the address which is stored in the HLR of the phone to the address of the server which runs the service, then process a series of operations. The SMS forwarding service is achieved.The production has run for testing in the Unicom of Heilongjiang province, and over 10,000 subscribers have used it. The results show that the system is good and stable and the requirement of the users has been satisfied. The design is a very good solution to the problem of the SMS forwarding. It will play an important role in promoting the development of SMS.
